Mika Pose.jpg

“Allow me to be my own person. Not ruled by the expectations of others.”

Mika was Grit’s first hired instructor. She’s been teaching yoga for 5 years. Yoga became a practice for her in college, but her desire to teach showed itself when she moved to Taiwan. It was there that she began to practice regularly in a studio that introduced her to a diverse group of teachers with many different backgrounds and styles of yoga.

She obtained her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification in Dharmashala, India, concentrating on Vinyasa.

Mika is continually furthering her knowledge of different styles while staying rooted in traditional yoga. She regularly attends workshops to expand her knowledge of anatomy in order to better understand the body and provide a safe and productive class for students of all ages and abilities. With every class, she strives to cultivate an inclusive environment for all of her students.

When Mika is not in the studio, she enjoys being outdoors and traveling with her husband, Caleb. They moved to Florence in 2016, and have enjoyed getting to know the town and people!
